PLASTIC SURGEON CARLOS GROSS

Dr. Carlos Gross got his title at Universidad Del Rosario; one of Colombia’s most prestigious universities. He did his specialization in the same university and he graduated with honors.

He has been practicing for over 10 years and he has performed more than 200 plastic and reconstructive surgery procedures. He belongs to the Colombian Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, the Operación Sonrisa Foundation and he is also a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery.

Dr. Gross has participated in numerous national and international Operation Smile missions, performing reconstructive surgery on lips, cracked palate, burnt kids and craniofacial malformations.

He was awarded the Arturo Aparicio prize for his post-graduate work, “Estudio de la efectividad de los acidos grasos omega 3 en la supervivencia de colgajos humanos.”

In 1999 Dr. Gross went as visit training to Baylor University and as Visit Acholar to Yale Plastic Surgery in 2006.

One of Dr. Gross’ most rewarding experiences has been to operate a 9 year-old  kid in Cavite, Philippines. The kid had harelip and his parents hid him in his room all this time due to his malformation. The day of the operation was the first day the kid had gone out of the room. Dr. Gross was very happy when he saw the kid playing with other kids during his first control after the operation.

Dr. Gross is the oldest son of a family conformed by his parents and a younger brother. He is currently engaged. He loves diving and he belongs to the Colombian’s Squash League. He loves jazz and he is a member of the BMW club since 2002.
